Use this thread if you have any general questions about training that may not be covered in other areas.
ITIL has a lot of "precision vocabulary" and alot of "acronyms". Is this one of the biggest challenges of ITIL? If you're going to do it, do you need a lot of ITIL speakers? Is training one person going to get you any results?
Jock16/05/2007 10:12:14 AM G'day - In the ITIL V3 Webinar today Bob mentioned that your Foundation course is being aligned to V3. How different will the course structure be? Will it still cover off all the V2 SS & SD processes and include new process such as Request Fullfillment? Will it glaze over the processes within Infrastructure and Applications Mgt? I'm trying to get a handle on what new attendees wil learn at foundation compared to what our current processes are. Thanks.
Jon23/05/2007 1:17:59 PM Hi, The current foundation course for V2 only covers the SS & SD processes and one function. The syllabus for the V3 foundation covers processes and functions from other areas too, such as Apps and Infrastructure Mgt. So yes, Request fullfillment amongst others will be covered, so students will get an "understanding" of how the entire lifecycle is made up and where all the processes fit.

It will not go into as much depth on each process as in the V2 course as there is so much more to cover and the course timeframe will remain at 3 days. I wouldn't say it will "glaze over" any particular area but it will remain at a higher level than seen in V2 and this means that this course is much more a foundation level course than before.

It will ultimately put more relevance and the need to progress on to the practioner level to gain better and more in depth knowledge of particular areas.

Hope this helps.
